Taking a stroll through Cowichan Bay Village is a highlight of any visit to the Cowichan Valley. This village on-the-sea is a rustic collection of sea-food restaurants, galleries, curios, stilt homes and fishing docks. Nestled on the south side of the Bay, overlooking the spectacular Mt Tzhouhalem jutting dramatically out from the ocean, the village is beautifully situated.
Many homes and businesses are literally on-the-sea, built on stilts over the water.
Enjoy Fish and Chips at the Rock Cod Cafe, take in local history at the Cowichan Bay Maritime Museum or view traditional Coast Salish art at the Art Vickers Gallery.
For the adventurous - Cowichan Bay is a great starting off point for Whale Watching, Kayaking and Sailing.
